September 27---- The Mid-autumn tea party was organized by the department of international communication and cooperation to celebrate the festival in the second conference room. 12 foreign students from Uganda, Cameroon, Kenya, India and Pakistan took part in it. President Liu, Vice President Wang, and the director, the secretary of our department attended this activity.
Foreign students made self-introductions in Chinese, and expressed their affections for the college. President Liu extended seasons greetings and blessings, and spoke highly of their fluent communication. In addition, he addressed college characteristics and achievements, and gave some suggestions for them. He said life was long while youth was fleeting. So he hoped that everyone could seize the opportunity to study and ensure personal security. Liu was also concerned with apartment facilities and strongly supported extracurricular activities to be held. President Liu took photos with students and hoped they could make contributions to high quality college construction.
After the address, teachers and students tasted mooncakes and communicated with each other. Mai Xiaodan, a Cameroonian, sang a Chinese song and Sun Xiaobei, a Kenyan, recited a Chinese poetry. After the party, they made dumplings in the dining hall and were provided with mooncakes.
People think of dear ones during festive seasons. Foreign students experienced Chinese traditional festival culture through this activity and their desire to learn Chinese was stimulated. Moreover, they got sense of belonging of this college family and have spent a meaningful festival.
